In the spirit of the film Giselle in 3D shown this week, I bring you Mikhail Baryshnikov in Giselle. In my opinion, no one, absolutely no one, has been able to perform with such exactitude in technique, with the character of the role so present, and with the ease that only ‘Misha’ can have while performing some of the most difficult movements in ballet..

In a new dance competition hailing from India, I am delighted to see such a wonderful fusion of the different dance styles, and this young woman (at 1:14 minutes) finds the perfect balance:

I just won two tickets to Giselle in 3D, filmed at the Marinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, Russia. It is a one day only event, and I am truly looking forward to witnessing traditional ballet and modern technology engaging together to create a first-time, unique experience for ballet fans. Watch out for it on July 12th at select theaters.
